There's an Andy Warhol exhibit at The Wexner Center for the Arts next week. I've never been a huge fan of Andy Warhol. Really, I don't like anything visual that requires an artist statement to appreciate it.
But I can say two really good things about Warhol.
1. You can't destroy the integrity of his work by putting it on a shirt, or using it for an advertisement. His stuff is almost making fun of you for liking it in the first place. So, like a velvet portrait of Elvis, the more this terrible junk is dispersed, the more popular it becomes. 2. He's probably the only reason I know about the Velvet Underground.
